ABOUT REDSPEC
Match your light to the hour.
Light is the first signal your body reads each day. We built two lenses so your eyes get the right one at the right hour, first screen to last.
- Your eyes set your internal clock
- Day lens for screens and focus
- Evening lens for calm and sleep
- One lens for each half of the day
Morning to night. Screen to sleep.
WHAT WE ARE
Two lenses, one system.
Real optical eyewear built for the way light moves through your day, then tuned to be worn from morning screens to evening wind-down.
Engineered.
Precision CR-39 optics set in plant-based bio-acetate, light enough to forget you have them on.
Circadian.
A Day lens tuned for focus and a warm Evening lens tuned for recovery, matched to your light.
Calm.
Quiet shapes and finishes made to live on your face all day, not sit forgotten in a drawer.
THE THESIS
Your eyes do two jobs.
By day your eyes work hard on bright screens; by night they quietly tell your body whether it is still daytime. One tint cannot serve both jobs well, so we built a separate lens for each.
- Daytime: focus work on bright screens
- After dark: your eyes report light to your clock
THE LENSES
Real optical lenses.
Each lens is real optical resin, not bargain plastic, and each one filters only the light that matters for its job. The Day lens takes the edge off screen glare while keeping clear comfort; the warm Evening lens goes further to help your eyes read night as night.
- Day: soft yellow, filters ~55% blue
- Evening: warm amber, blocks ~78%
Tuned to filter the harsh blue while keeping the light you need to see clearly.
THE BUILD
Made to be worn.
We started with an instrument calm enough to live with, then made it worth looking at. The plant-based acetate warms to your face, the hardware is built to hold, and every shape is cut to actually sit right.
- Plant-based bio-acetate, petroleum-free
- Five-barrel hinges that stay tight
- Shapes cut to fit different faces
